Welcome Back, Fairview Knights!

The 2026–2027 school year is here, and we’re excited to welcome our students, families, and staff back to Fairview High School!

This year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, connect, and create lasting memories. We are also excited to welcome our new principal, Brent Caldwell, and our assistant principals, Katie McGee, Richard Elkind, and Cora Lanter, who also serves as our Athletics Director. We look forward to their leadership, collaboration, and commitment to supporting our students and staff throughout the year.

Thank you to our families, students, and dedicated staff for making Fairview such a strong and supportive community. Together, we’re ready for a year filled with achievement, growth, and Knight pride.

Wednesday, August 12, will be Orientation Day for all 9th graders and new students in grades 10–12.

There will be no late start.

All students in grades 9–12 will begin the 2026–27 school year on Thursday, August 13.

Apptegy: BVSD App is replacing Messenger as BVSD's primary communication platform. Beginning this school year, all school and district email communications will be sent through Apptegy, making it the essential way to stay informed.

Registration is one of the first opportunities to welcome students and families to the new school year, and we'd love your help! Volunteers play an important role in creating a smooth, positive experience by greeting families, directing them through the registration process, and assisting at stations such as student IDs and photos, Chromebook distribution, and information tables.

Registration is an important step in preparing for the upcoming school year. All students are expected to attend Registration to receive their class schedule, take their photo for their school ID, and resolve any outstanding fines.

Yearbook Pictures / IDs: Lifetouch will be on campus to take school pictures for the yearbook and school IDs. School IDs will be issued to 9th grade students and all new students. All incoming 10th–12th grade students should keep and use their current school ID until they graduate.

Please be sure to be school-appropriate for your ID photo (no costumes, wigs, face paint, etc.), and do not alter your appearance. These photos are used to identify students each day and play an important role in school security.

Registration for Fairview High School Fall Athletics is now open! Whether you're joining football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, golf, tennis, softball, or another fall sport, now is the time to review important dates, registration requirements, physical forms, fees, and first practice information.

Don't wait—be sure you're registered and have all required paperwork completed before the season begins.

SKO Knights!

We welcome all incoming 9th grade families interested in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and FHS Honors Program (IB and Advanced Placement/AP), as well as returning FHS families (10th-12th grades) at the annual IB Back-to-School Picnic on Sunday, August 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Come and meet the 12th grade IB Mentor-Students, FHS Staff and Administration and IB Coordinator, Chris Weber. Mingle with other families and students, learn about parent volunteer opportunities, and socialize with us in the greenspace in front of the school (south side near the horseshoe entrance).

Please RSVP here and bring your favorite potluck dish, drinks & blanket/lawn chairs for your family. If your student’s last name begins with: A-K please bring a side dish or L-Z please bring a main dish in your own or recyclable container.

Fairview Staff will be on the Bricks @ 8:25 to welcome 9th graders via the Welcome Gauntlet!

Club leaders, please plan to come to the Freshman Orientation Club and Athletic Fair on August 12th from 12:30-2:00 pm. When you fill out the club application, you will be sent an email with more details! Please complete the Club Application and then sign up HERE to represent your club at the fair. 

Parents, if you are picking up and dropping off your student at the school, please use the designated pick up and drop off location at the west side of the senior lot which is located just southwest of the front of the school. Please follow the yellow signs designated for pick up and drop off. Do not block our school buses. Thank you!

High School lockers are only provided to students who sign up for one. Secure your own locker for the school year if you wish to have one. Our locker registration form will be available on August 5th to ensure you have a designated space for your belongings.

All lockers are shared with one other student in your grade. Please consider a close friend in your grade, or we will assign a locker partner for you.

Hello Knights and parents, welcome back to the 25-26 school year. Here is some information for any students that will have meds at school. This includes epipens and asthma inhalers. Attached are the forms you will need to fill out and have your provider sign. Return the forms to the health room. We encourage high schoolers to self-carry epipens and inhalers so they can be used as soon as possible in an emergency situation. BVSD Health Services - Contract to Self-carry Medications 

Fairview High School will continue our 8-period day with Advisory this year, but a few adjustments have been made in order to honor student, parent, and staff requests.

The schedule is designed to support academic success, strengthen relationships between students and staff, and provide dedicated time for college and career readiness, social-emotional learning, and community building.

We heard your concerns about the lack of access to teachers and finding common time for FHS clubs to meet.

Our new Bell Schedule includes a common block lunch on Wednesdays and Thursdays that will allow access to teachers and provide the ability for clubs to meet during the school day.

This year, Advisory will have students in only one grade level (rather than mixed grades). Freshmen will be with freshmen, sophomores will be with sophomores, etc., and we are excited about addressing grade-level needs.

Advisory will be scheduled on Thursday mornings from 8:30–9:30 and will include increased time for students to connect with teachers.

Additionally, the Wednesday/Thursday schedule is now in chronological order: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 2, 4, 6, 8. There is also designated time for teachers to meet with students during Office Hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays during 5th and 6th periods.

As a 1:Web school, we ask all future FHS students to not purchase their own personal computer, but instead wait to receive a new Chromebook from BVSD when they enter 9th grade.

Benefits of having a BVSD-issued Chromebook include:

Security: students will be able to be on the most secure BVSD network we offer (all outside devices use an open “Guest” network)

Testing: students must have a BVSD chromebook for testing (PSAT, SAT, CMAS, AP, IB, and most class exams all require a BVSD device

Curriculum: classroom assignments and resources are accessible on chromebooks (and aren’t always compatible with other devices)

Chromebook Repairs: repairs for broken Chromebooks can be completed quickly through our school and district services (students can bring their Chromebook to the library to get it repaired).

Families will be charged an annual fee* through Infinite Campus that can be paid any time within the fall semester, along with other school fees. All families who qualify for free/reduced lunch will have this fee waived.

*Prices vary based on market value of the item when issued, but are usually around $67 per year.

Senior Parking permits will be available for purchase starting on August 6th at 9 am. There will be an Application form available on the Parking Page starting at 9:00 AM. Fill out the Application form and pay for the permit in Rev Track. The first 300 seniors to do both tasks will receive their senior parking permit on August 20 or 21, when they are distributed in the senior lot.

After we have 300 seniors signed up, the document will no longer be accessible. After this happens, we will start a paper waitlist sign-up in the main office.

Welcome back, Knights! We are excited to kick off another great school year. Regular attendance and arriving on time help students stay connected, engaged, and successful. Every class period matters, and we appreciate your partnership in making attendance a priority.

If your student will be absent or late, please notify the Attendance Office as soon as possible. Parents and guardians can report absences by calling the Attendance Line at 720-561-5352 or by submitting an absence through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Please note that attendance updates may take 48- 72 hours to process, and automated attendance calls may still occur during that time.

Please provide a note if your student is absent due to a doctor's appointment or another appointment that issues documentation to excuse the absence for the day or class period.

Please note that we do not call students out of class for pickups or deliveries. If you plan to pick up your student early or need to drop off an item, please communicate those plans with your student ahead of time.

Students who become ill during the school day must report to the Health Office before leaving campus. The Health Office will contact a parent or guardian if a student needs to go home.

Students can use My.BVSD.org for Single Sign-On access to Gmail, Infinite Campus, Schoology, and more. If you were enrolled in a BVSD school last year, your login credentials remain the same.

Guardians who haven't yet created an Infinite Campus Portal account should check their email for an Activation Key, which may be in the Promotions or Spam folder. If you didn’t receive it, please contact our Registrar, Staci Sena, at staci.sena@bvsd.org for support.

Fairview does not have a school supply list. When students meet with teachers they will inform students what they will need for each class.

Fairview High School operates from 8:35 am to 3:55 pm, Monday through Friday. Students can enter the building starting at 8:00 am with their student ID badge, but cannot enter after 4:00 pm using their badge.

The main office is open and accessible from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.

Children need nutritious food to learn. The Boulder Valley School District offers nutritious meals every school day. Your children may qualify to receive free or reduced price meals. In many cases, eligibility for these federal school meal funds and programs is tied to the number of students who qualify for meal benefits. Even though meals are free, it is still very important that families complete the Free and Reduced Price Meal application, as it can waive or reduce fees district-wide for families, can impact transportation for some families, and impacts important funding for individual schools.
