Greetings Fairview Families! 

We had a fantastic week welcoming students back to the Castle! Our Knight Crew helped lead an amazing  welcoming for the Class of 2030! The Knight Crew members spent many hours over the last days of summer preparing to make the first days of school for freshman welcoming, fun, and memorable. Our huge freshman class (560) rose to the challenge and were great sports as they engaged in fun activities to meet new friends and learned the rules and expectations of Fairview! 

Our annual beginning-of-year Club & Activities Fair took place during the freshman orientation. Over 80 clubs welcomed new Knights to the Castle, giving students a chance to explore opportunities and get involved in our vibrant school community.

Personally, I am so proud to be a Knight! I am impressed by the kind and engaged student body. I am in awe of the talents and dedication of our staff. Most importantly, I am humbled to get to lead the Legacy of Fairview High School! 

Thank you all for your partnership in education. I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming Back to School Night and other beginning of year events!

Back to School Night Monday, August 24 

5:00–6:00 PM | Freshman Parent/Guardian Meeting — Auditorium
Families of incoming freshmen are invited to meet Fairview’s leadership team and get important information to help support their student as they begin high school.

6:00–8:30 PM | Back to School Night — Main Gym
All 9th–12th grade families are invited to join us, meet teachers, and follow their student’s schedule.

Cell Phone Policy Reminder

Expectations for cell phones were reviewed with all students during the first two days of school and again this morning during first period. The simple explanation of the policy is that phones should be off and out of sight from the time students enter the building until 3:55 unless they leave the building. This includes off blocks and lunch if students are inside the building. Student phones are taken to the office when observed during the day, unless under the direct supervision of a teacher. Students may pick up their phone after school. Parents may be called for repeat offenses. 

Enforcement of the policy began today and will be strictly enforced all year while in the building. Students may work with teachers or the office if they need to make a call using a school phone. Students may also use their phones outside during lunch and off blocks. This policy is in the third year of implementation as the BVSD Board of Trustees revised policy JRCT often called the “Away for the Day” policy during the 24-25 school year. Schools began implementing it in January, 2025. 

As we begin the school year, we want to remind families about the importance of driving safely on and around our campus. Please make sure to plan ahead, be prepared, and drive slowly. Remember that the neighborhoods surrounding Fairview are residential communities. During drop-off and pick-up, please slow down, follow all posted traffic and parking regulations, and be mindful of our neighbors.

We have heard concerns about speeding through parking lots, parking in no-parking areas, unexpected U-turns (always illegal in a school zone in Boulder), and litter. These behaviors can create safety concerns for students, pedestrians, drivers, and residents.

Please allow extra time during busy arrival and dismissal periods and use designated parking and drop-off areas. Fairview cannot enforce traffic or parking regulations on public streets or in residential areas. Violations may be reported directly to local authorities by residents.

Every Day Counts! ❤️

Being in class every day is one of the most important things your student can do to be successful in high school. Being present means learning with classmates, getting support directly from teachers, and taking part in the conversations, activities, and experiences that make Fairview special.

If your student will be absent, please report the absence through the the Infinite Campus Parent Portal so it can be properly recorded. An unexcused absence can affect credit and make-up work.

A few reminders:

For the quickest response, please email through Infinite Campus Parent Portal rather than leave a voicemail. Please choose one method, not both, to help us process requests efficiently.

If your student needs to leave school during the day, please include the periods or specific hours they will be absent.

With a large student population, our attendance staff processes each absence individually and in the order messages are received. Please allow up to 48 hours for an absence to be cleared.

You may continue to receive automated absence calls or messages while your student's absence is being processed. Please do not call or email again, as this can slow down the process for everyone.

Calling all musicians, actors, dancers, magicians, comedians, technical theater humans! Don't miss our annual Production Season Information Meeting in the FHS Auditorium on Tuesday, August 18 from 4:00-5:00pm! You will learn about Fairview's Main Stage Productions for the coming year: Fall Musical, Pops Show, and Spring Play. This meeting is very important for getting all the details and preliminary sign-ups for the amazing performing arts shows at Fairview!

Welcome, New Knights!Fairview’s freshmen and new students kicked off the 2026–27 school year with an energetic orientation! Students were welcomed by Fairview’s Knight Crew and host Mike Flood, participated in group activities, explored the school, and got to know their new community.

The morning wrapped up with pizza on the front lawn—a chance to relax, connect, and start the year together.

Yearbooks are available for pre-order already! Pre-order your yearbook here to lock in a low price, and use the coupon code EARLY for an additional discount! The coupon code expires on 9/1/26, and the price will go up to $80 on January 1, 2027.

SENIORS (and their parents/guardians), please be aware of these important deadlines:

Baby Ads are due September 18, 2026, at 11 pm

Senior portraits and quotes are due January 16, 2027, at 11 pm

Senior Parking Passes

Senior parking passes will be distributed August 19 & 20 from 11:30 AM–1:30 PM in the Senior Parking Lot.

Only 6 spots remain! If you haven’t reserved your spot yet, now is the time.

Please complete the parking form and pay the fee through RevTrak to reserve your space.

Waitlist Information: Once all 300 parking spots are filled, the online form will close. Seniors may then join the waitlist by completing a paper form in the Main Office.

We've got you covered! Thanks to the Impact in Education Grant, free
backpacks and school supply kits are available for any student who
needs them. Just stop by the Counseling Conference Room and ask at the
front desk to pick up your backpack and supply kit. We're excited to
help you start the school year ready for success!

Breakfast and lunch are FREE for BVSD students. Students can receive a full breakfast, along with one lunch entree (with unlimited salad/fruit to accompany the entree) for free each day. Even though lunch is free, it is still very important that families complete the Free & Reduced Price School Meal application each year, as it waives and reduces fees (including athletics/activities and school technology fees) district-wide for many families, can impact transportation for some families, and impacts important funding for individual schools. It also qualifies some families for a 50% reduction in Lifelong Learning tuition, and waived tuition for BVSD Online classes (excluding the $50 registration fee). Child Care families will continue to apply for financial assistance through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
