Principal's Message

Be a Fairview Voice on BVSD Committees

Want to make a difference for Fairview students? We're looking for parent volunteers to represent our school on several important BVSD committees. This is your chance to share your perspective, provide valuable insight, and help shape decisions that impact our school and district.

School Accountability Committee (SAC)

SAC is a legally-constituted advisory committee at the school level. Parent representatives work closely with the principal to review budgets, monitor school improvement plans, and support parent engagement efforts. SAC plays a central role in shaping decisions that affect every student at Fairview. Mr. Caldwell accepts all parents willing to commit to 6 meetings during the year. SAC will meet 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, October 7, November 4, January 6, February 3 and March 3.

District Accountability Committee (DAC)

DAC is a district-level advisory committee composed of representatives from each school's SAC and other community members. DAC provides feedback to the BVSD Board of Education on the district budget, unified improvement plan, charter applications, family engagement, and policies. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the evening, offering a chance to influence decisions that impact all BVSD students.

Latinx Parent Advisory Council (CAPL)

CAPL is a collaborative network of parents from the Latinx, Caribbean, and/or Spanish-speaking community who work together to support the educational well-being of students and help close opportunity gaps. CAPL amplifies families' voices and strengthens diversity, equity, inclusion, and linguistic access across all educational areas. Meetings are held in Spanish with English translation available on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Interested families should contact bianca.gallegos@bvsd.org(opens in new tab) or call 720-561-6062.

Families and Educators Together (FET)

FET is a team of educators and family members partnering to create a more inclusive community that supports the well-being of all students and families. FET centers parent voices and deepens trust and collaboration between educators and underrepresented family members. Your ideas help all children excel and strengthen the school community. FET teams currently exist in 31 schools. Contact your school's front office for more information or to join your school's next FET meeting.

Coffee Talk with the Principal

Mr. Caldwell and the administrative team host informal "no agenda" meetings called "Coffee Talk" quarterly. The first scheduled visit will be Coffee Talk with the Principal on Friday morning, September 11th. Please plan to stop by the Fairview Student Center between 7:00-9:00 a.m. to visit, get to know each other, and ask any question you may have. Coffee and morning snacks will be provided.

How to Get Involved

If you're ready to represent Fairview or want more information, contact Brent Caldwell. Your voice matters—help us make an impact!

What an exciting week it has been at Fairview! There has been so much energy around campus as we continue settling into the new school year and building our Knight community. This week, we came together for our first school-wide assembly, where students and staff had the chance to celebrate being part of Fairview and show off some serious Knight spirit. We also celebrated Senior Sunrise, giving our seniors a special opportunity to come together and enjoy one of those memorable moments that make senior year so special.

Our fall sports teams are also off to a fantastic start! Volleyball and softball both opened their seasons with wins, and tonight our soccer team takes the field for its first game of the season. We are so proud of all of our student-athletes and the dedication, teamwork, and school spirit they bring to Fairview. We encourage everyone to come out, support our teams, and help us keep the energy going throughout the fall.

It is wonderful to see our school community coming together both in and outside the classroom. From cheering on our athletes to celebrating our seniors and coming together as a school, these moments remind us what makes Fairview such a special place. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping make the start of this school year such a positive one. Here's to a great year ahead, Knights!

Brent Caldwell

Fairview Principal
