Student What's Happening

Volume 33, Issue 8, October 15th 2026

Principal's Message:

Welcome Back to Q2, New Vista!

Welcome back, Owls! We hope you had a wonderful break and found some time to rest, recharge, and enjoy life outside of school. As we launch Quarter 2, there is so much to look forward to and so much to celebrate from our first quarter together!

From the many incredible experiences and stories that came out of Service Week to the launch of our new Levitt Lab pilot, the continued growth of our school garden, and the development of our recording studio, New Vista continues to be a place where you all have opportunities to learn, create, explore, and make a difference. We hope you'll continue to take advantage of all the unique opportunities that make New Vista such a special place.

A Few Important Reminders About Q1 Grades

Your Quarter 1 grades will be available in Infinite Campus by Friday, October 23.

Remember that New Vista uses a four-point grading system, and the letter grades you see in Infinite Campus don't always tell the whole story about your learning or how your grades translate into your GPA.

An especially important reminder: If you earned a C in a Core class (Math, Science, Social Studies, or Language Arts), you will need to either retake that class or submit a petition requesting that your C count toward your graduation requirements. If you would like to petition, please connect with your advisor to learn more about the process.

As you look over your grades, take a moment to celebrate your successes, reflect on your learning, and think about what you might want to do differently this quarter. Remember, learning is a process, and each new quarter is an opportunity to grow.

We are excited about what lies ahead in Q2. Keep showing up for yourselves, for one another, and for this remarkable community we continue to build together.

Let's make it a great quarter, New Vista!
