Greeting Fairview Families!

I hope you all enjoyed the Fall Break and made time for quality family time together. It is hard to believe we started the second quarter of the school year this week. As I continue to learn about Fairview, meet new families, and experience new traditions, my appreciation for the level of excellence continues to grow!

While it feels like school just began, we are already gearing up for Open Enrollment for the 27-28 school year. Fairview is proud to host a table at the, “BVSD Is the Place to Be Showcase” on Wednesday, October 21 at the CU Event Center. We are also preparing for Fairview School Tours on November 12 and December 3 from 11:00am-12:30 pm and our Fairview Showcase Knight on November 17 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Fairview Auditorium. If you know anyone who is searching for the right fit for high school, please have them come see us at any of these events.

I want to extend a special thank you to our Fairview Parent Organization and everyone who has contributed to FPO for providing dinner for our teachers during conferences last week. The long days are a little easier with the food, care and appreciation. Thank you to everyone who supports our FPO and our school!

Thank you for your partnership!

Brent

Halloween: We will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 30 for those who choose to participate. Costumes should follow these guidelines:

Use common sense and good judgment when choosing a costume. All costumes should be school appropriate and appropriate for all audiences.

Costumes should not be a distraction or disruption at school. Students will attend their normal schedule on that day and will participate in all regular classroom activities.

Safety is always the top priority. Staff must be able to recognize students. Students may not wear masks, sunglasses, fake blood, excessive face paint, and/or hoods that cover the head and/or face. Weapons (real or facsimile) are not allowed.

Costumes should not be used in any way to joke about or make fun of a group of people, cultures or religions and should not reinforce any stereotypes.

Students wearing costumes that are not in line with BVSD’s Code of Conduct will need to change or have a parent bring appropriate clothing to school. Fairview staff reserve the right to ask any student to remove their costume if it becomes a distraction or is not a positive representation of our community.

Thank you for your support in helping to make this a fun and safe day for everyone!

Upcoming Events

🎃 Trick-or-Treat Street Tuesday, October 27

It’s that time of year again, and Fairview is getting ready to host our annual Trick or Treat Street on October 27th from 5-7PM! We appreciate all of the clubs that are participating and helping make this event possible. We also encourage the families of the little kids that are attending to come along with them to share the experience!

This week's KNIGHT Awards

At Fairview, excellence happens in Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Activities. We’re excited to celebrate that excellence in a new way with our KNIGHT Awards, recognizing students who are Kind, Noble, Inclusive, Generous, Honest, Talented, and Spirited.

Zane Copeland and Stephen Millard- Talented and Inclusive

Zane Copeland and Stephen Millard have both been doing a fantastic job as leaders in the marching band. They come to practice early every Monday to meet with the student leadership team to discuss a new goal for the week, and they have been so important in our success so far this year. They have been building a positive culture of doing things the right way, taking care of each other, and working for excellence in everything they do.
Congratulations to the Marching Band for taking 3rd at the Regional Competition.

Ada Kimel — Honest
Ada found a valuable set of keys and promptly turned them into a trusted teacher.  This saved the lost owner lots of time, money and stress.

Congratulations to this week’s KNIGHT Award recipients! We’re proud to celebrate the many ways Fairview students shine.

Fairview Marching Band Takes 3rd at Northern Regionals!

Congratulations to Fairview’s Marching Band!  Our talented musicians earned 3rd place at the Colorado Bandmasters Association Northern Regionals Competition! We’re proud of their hard work, dedication, and musical excellence. Way to go, Knights!

Colorado’s Jessica Watkins Becomes the First Black Woman to Command a Space Mission

Fairview High School alum Jessica Watkins just made history as the first Black woman to command a space mission, which successfully launched on October 1, for the SpaceX Crew-13 flight to the International Space Station. Growing up in Lafayette, her love for Earth sciences began right here by the Rocky Mountains. Now, her passion has taken her all the way to NASA.
